Danielle Uhl, MSOL
Owner & Photographer
Danielle founded Underexposed® in Denver in 2013. After starting photography in high school with a manual black & white film camera and darkroom processing, she decided to turn her passion into a business with the mission to “Expose the Underexposed.” So the company was born.
Combining her unique education (B.A. & Masters in Business), over 18 years of photography experience, and over a decade in Entrepreneurship, Danielle noticed a gap in the photography industry. Any photographer can take a pretty photo, but business owners need so much more – which is exactly what we do.
We specialize in Branding Photography and Event Photography (a.k.a. Marketing photography) with a passion to help other business owners succeed by creating effective marketing tools through photography. We make the process personalized and easy for busy business owners to confidently uplevel their brand and increase their bottom-line.
You’ll always find Danielle with a coffee in-hand and her dogs by her side (aka her assistants) -- or traveling and singing with her husband when she’s not behind the camera.
Melissa Schroeder
Associate Photographer
Melissa has been photographing since she was young — following her family and friends around with disposable cameras, and then developing the film and creating albums for her loved ones. She is a people-person with a creative streak and loves that photography is the perfect balance of those things.
Officially starting her business in 2019, she serves amazing clients celebrating a variety of incredible moments in their lives. From graduations to weddings, Melissa's focus is on making the people in front of her camera feel comfortable. Capturing organic emotions in timeless imagery is her goal every time she picks up her camera.
When she’s not behind the camera, you'll most likely find Melissa at her favorite local sushi joint, traveling, cheering on the Rockies, or spending quality time with her husband, Rob and dog, Wally.

In 2018, Underexposed® Photography was hired to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA and Helsinki, Finland to photograph the Karaoke World Championship National USA Finals and World Finals, featuring singers from over 20 countries.
