Summer Family Portraits at Mount Falcon Trailhead | Denver Family Photographer
Summer is here and family portraits are in session!
This beautiful little family is a past wedding client of mine who was ready to get some new family portraits taken. For their photoshoot location, they chose Mount Falcon in Jefferson County just outside of Denver, Colorado. Even though it was a busy Saturday morning, and the park was filled with hikers and other photography sessions, we were able to find our own little spot to capture these photos!
As a family photographer, my goal is to, not only capture some of the traditional photos of everyone together, smiling and looking at the camera, but is to capture the family’s personality, love, and candid moments where they are truly enjoying each other. As you can see, this was easy for this little family!

When you’re preparing for your family photography session, think about some things that make your family unique, what you enjoy doing together, and the little things you do with each other to show your true personality in your photos.
Mount Falcon is a beautiful photoshoot location for your family portraits near Denver. It’s about a 45 minute drive from Denver. The West Trailhead parking lot is the best place to start. It can be a busy park for both photoshoots and hikers, especially during the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, but it’s large enough that you rarely run into issues. I usually recommend that weekdays or weekday evenings are usually less busy times if possible. There is a photography permit fee of $25 that is required per session, and dogs are allowed on leash.
